We are delighted to introduce Eric Schwarz as one of our newest board members at Health Services of North Texas (HSNT). With a wealth of experience and an unwavering dedication to making a difference, Eric embodies the spirit of service and compassion that lies at the core of HSNT's mission.

With a previous five-year tenure on the board of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Lorain County, Ohio, Eric brings valuable expertise to our organization. His commitment to helping underserved populations led him to HSNT after relocating to Texas last year. Impressed by his enthusiasm and alignment with our mission, Doreen Rue, HSNT CEO, and Dale Tampke, HSNT Board President, welcomed him with open arms. Eric's professional background includes managing a team in the Trust Department at Wells Fargo, which played a role in bringing him to Texas.

Eric's dedication to helping economically challenged communities and underserved populations stems from his own upbringing. "I grew up really poor myself, and I've had some luck. I mean, you don't get where any of us are without some luck and help from others," Eric acknowledges. This understanding fuels his desire to give back and provide support to those in need, particularly children and young adults. “You have to give back any way you can,” he stressed during our conversation.

As a board member, Eric envisions expanding our services to include dental and optical. He recognizes the significance of comprehensive care that caters to the diverse needs of our community. Drawing from his previous experience in Ohio serving on an FQHC board, Eric witnessed the impact of providing both dental and optical care firsthand. In line with our service expansion, Eric emphasized his interest in bolstering our marketing efforts to raise awareness about HSNT's mission. "Marketing is my number one priority. I believe we need to maximize our outreach and make a greater impact."

Beyond his dedication to HSNT, Eric treasures his role as a father to five adult daughters and a 5-year-old son. He cherishes the quality time he spends with his family, creating meaningful memories together. Eric's commitment to family extends to his vision of mentoring young adults. Drawing from his own life experiences and lessons learned, he aspires to guide and support individuals who lack parental guidance or face challenges in their educational journeys. “As part of my spiritual development, I've been looking for purpose. Purpose has to do with things you're passionate about that you want to give back and that you're good at, right? And I've been looking for opportunities to be more of a mentor on an individual basis to either college students or high school,” he shared.

Eric's journey serves as a testament to the profound impact individuals can have when they combine passion, experience, and unwavering dedication to a cause. At HSNT, we are honored to have Eric as a board member, and we eagerly anticipate working alongside him to forge a brighter future for the communities we serve.
