Meet Mary
Mary Loya, WHNP, has over two decades of experience in women’s health and has been a trusted provider at HSNT’s Denton South Center since 2018. Known for her compassionate and down-to-earth approach, Mary is dedicated to helping women feel informed, empowered, and supported through every stage of care. She began her nursing career in 1995 and was inspired to pursue a career as a women’s health nurse practitioner after working alongside WHNPs at a public health department. Mary earned her nurse practitioner degree from UCLA, followed by a master’s program based in Denver. After many years in public service in California, she moved to Texas to be closer to her children and grandchildren and found a new professional home at HSNT. Mary focuses on creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions and taking an active role in their care. “Even if I only have 15 minutes, if I can take an extra two to go over a 24-hour diet recall or explain what’s happening in their body, I will,” she says. “Your health is too precious.” Fun Fact: Mary is a retired California public servant and has completed four marathons just for fun!
