About the STI and STD screenings we offer

Do you need to see a doctor for a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or a sexually transmitted disease (STD)? At Health Services of North Texas (HSNT), we offer private testing at a reduced rate for patients of all ages. Not only can you spread STIs and STDs to other partners, but you also risk more. When you do not test and treat an STI or STD, you will risk the development of specific types of cancers, blindness, reproductive organ damage, chronic illness, and infertility. You can recieve screenings at our health centers in Denton and Plano.

If you would like to learn more about our STI and STD screening, please reach out to one of our offices and talk to a patient care coordinator. We can put you in touch with the services you need — including diagnosis and treatment for STI and STDs.

What are the Benefits of STI and STD Screenings?

Some people are unaware of the importance of testing for STIs and STDs. These screenings help prevent infections from becoming more serious and help you avoid passing the infection to others. If detected early, many STIs can be treated with antibiotics or medications and cured before they cause any health complications. Additionally, screenings can diagnose infections even when you do not see any visible symptoms. HSNT is proud to offer confidential testing and treatment options for STIs and STDs.

We offer sti and std screenings

At HSNT, you can come to one of our offices for a private, confidential appointment for STI and STD screening for:

  • Chlamydia
  • Genital herpes (with or without symptoms)
  • Gonorrhea
  • Hepatitis
  • HIV
  • Human papillomaviruses (HPV)
  • Syphilis

We have testing in-house for STIs and STDs with samples of your blood and/or urine. Women will need to have a pelvic exam for a culture to be collected to screen for HPV. Our medical teams will do our part to get your test results back in a timely manner.

It may also be important for your sexual partner(s) to be tested as well — especially if treatment is needed.

  • Women should have HPV screening during their pelvic exams
  • Men should be tested for HPV as well
  • If age-appropriate, get immunized with the HPV vaccine (ages 11 – 26)
