About the STI and STD screenings we offer
Do you need to see a doctor for a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or a sexually transmitted disease (STD)? At Health Services of North Texas (HSNT), we offer private testing at a reduced rate for patients of all ages. Not only can you spread STIs and STDs to other partners, but you also risk more. When you do not test and treat an STI or STD, you will risk the development of specific types of cancers, blindness, reproductive organ damage, chronic illness, and infertility. You can recieve screenings at our health centers in Denton and Plano. For women, we have a women's healthcare office at Denton South in Denton, TX for female pelvic exams.
Some of the high-risk factors you may have can indicate your need for an update on your screenings. This can include factors, such as:
- You are under 25 years of age (Remember, you can have an STI or STD at any age.)
- You have had multiple sexual partners or a new sexual partner
- You have had an unwanted sexual traumatic experience in the past
- You are a pregnant woman
- You had sex or other sexual activities at an early age
- You have HIV or AIDS
- You have a weak immune system
- You have had an STI or STD in the past
If you would like to learn more about our STI and STD screening, please reach out to one of our offices and talk to a patient care coordinator. We can put you in touch with the services you need — including diagnosis and treatment for STI and STDs.

"Dr Janice Hill said she doesn't take care of overall health at that clinic. She only does OB. We didn't discuss my meds nor that I am nursing. Only birth control. I am looking for Dr. to help me take care of my health. I moved from another state. I do NOT recommend Dr. Hill for anyone who cares for their health. She was not interested in my health. Getting an appt with any doctor is complicated and not easy to schedule. The staff is very friendly and paitent."- Y.N. / Google / Jul 03, 2021

We offer sti and std screenings
At HSNT, you can come to one of our offices for a private, confidential appointment for STI and STD screening for:
- Genital herpes (with or without symptoms)
- Human papillomaviruses (HPV)
We have testing in-house for STIs and STDs with samples of your blood and/or urine. Women will need to have a pelvic exam for a culture to be collected to screen for HPV. Our medical teams will do our part to get your test results back in a timely manner.
It may also be important for your sexual partner(s) to be tested as well — especially if treatment is needed.
Your Preventive Care Options
What can you do for prevention? With HSNT, there are quite a few options you have to help prevent the contraction and spread of STIs and STDs:
- Get tested regularly, especially if you are in the high-risk category
- Always practice safe sex
- Women should have HPV screening during their pelvic exams
- Men should be tested for HPV as well
- If age-appropriate, get immunized with the HPV vaccine (ages 11 – 26)
About the Ryan White HIV Program
At HSNT, the Ryan White program allows uninsured people living with HIV/AIDS to receive compassionate and confidential medical care — regardless of their ability to pay. To determine eligibility, all patients need to provide their proof of income and proof of residency. Those who qualify for Ryan White will have access to numerous useful programs, including case management, medical care, and housing assistance. Contact us through our website or at 940-381-1501 to meet with a case manager and verify your eligibility.
Don't delay testing
