Meet Tami
Health Services of North Texas is delighted to welcome Tami Barton, Family Nurse Practitioner to the Denton Family Practice Team. Tami Barton, FNP has served in a nursing capacity for more than 20 years and completed her Master of Science in Nursing in May of 2017 from Lubbock Christian University. Her areas of experience range from internal medicine to pediatrics, women’s health, and chronic disease management, positioning her well to serve as a family practice provider.
Tami places a high level of importance on nutrition as a primary source of medicine and guides her patients through small lifestyle changes that add up to significant health benefits. No matter what the patient needs during a visit, each visit includes some level of education on healthy movement and eating, equipping her patients to improve their overall health.
Tami says this about her chosen profession as a Family Nurse Practitioner, “As far back as I can remember, I always liked medicine and science. Once I realized that I could take what I was learning and use it to help others and make a difference, I was hooked.”
Tami is committed to helping patients with limited resources access quality, effective medical care, developing a relationship of trust and partnership. When treating chronic illnesses, such as hypertension and diabetes, keeping routinely scheduled visits and prioritizing your health will make a difference in patient outcomes.
