Health Services of North Texas (HSNT) proudly announces the appointment of four distinguished leaders as Life Members of its Board of Directors, recognizing their extraordinary service and long-lasting impact on the organization and the communities it serves. An HSNT Life Member is an honorary, non-governing recognition of extraordinary leadership or service to HSNT through board member service.
During HSNT’s 38th Annual Governing Board Meeting, the Board of Directors had the privilege of honoring Glen McKenzie, Judge David Garcia, Michael Foster, and Rev. Dale Tampke- leaders whose service helped shape HSNT into what it is today. Each brought unique skills, talents, and perspectives, serving as Board President at pivotal moments in HSNT’s growth and evolution.
In-coming Board President Lee Brown also extended his appreciation to Rev. Dale Tampke, recognizing his nine years of service and leadership to the organization.
“These leaders each met HSNT at a critical moment and guided us forward with vision, discipline, and heart,” said Brown. “Their leadership translated our mission into real impact for the community, and their legacy remains woven into the framework that supports our work today.”
HSNT Chief Executive Officer Doreen Rue added, “The strength of HSNT has always been rooted in the caliber of leaders who step forward to serve. Glen, Judge Garcia, Michael, and Dale each brought exactly what the organization needed in moments that mattered most. Their leadership not only advanced our mission—it shaped our culture, strengthened our governance, and ensured we are positioned to meet the needs of our community for years to come.”
Newly Appointed HSNT Life Members
Glen McKenzie (Board President, 2016–2018)
Glen McKenzie brought exceptional business acumen and a remarkable ability to translate individual data points into strategic insight. His steady leadership strengthened HSNT’s foundation during a critical transition from a primarily grant-funded revenue model to a more diversified and sustainable structure. His guiding principle, “no margin, no mission,” helped position the organization for long-term growth and stability.
Judge David Garcia (Board President, 2018–2020)
Judge Garcia provided steady, disciplined leadership through complex challenges, leveraging his legal expertise to strengthen governance and accountability. He elevated board engagement through meaningful committee work and fostered a more efficient, focused, and mission-driven approach to meetings. His enduring message, “Be Bold, Be Brilliant, Be Gone,” continues to inspire decisive, forward-thinking leadership.
Michael Foster (Board President, 2020–2022)
Michael Foster contributed deep nonprofit governance experience and strong financial expertise during a time requiring thoughtful decision-making and community engagement. His calm, solutions-oriented approach helped guide HSNT through complex challenges while strengthening external partnerships and support for the organization’s mission.
Rev. Dale Tampke (Board President, 2022–2026)
Rev. Dale Tampke’s leadership exemplified a powerful combination of business insight, practical wisdom, and compassion. During a period of significant challenges in today’s healthcare environment, he reinforced HSNT’s mission as the organization’s guiding force. His emphasis on valuing people—staff, board members, donors, partners, and patients—helped cultivate a culture of gratitude, humility, and respect that continues to shape HSNT today.
Together, these four leaders—alongside HSNT’s four current Life Members—represent those who guided the organization through pivotal moments of growth and transformation. Their leadership has left an indelible mark on HSNT’s trajectory, and the thousands of lives touched through its services.
