12 Years of Care: Sharri’s Story

For over 12 years, Sharri has called Health Services of North Texas (HSNT) her medical home. Now approaching 67, she reflects on the care that has supported her through routine checkups, unexpected health scares, and everything in between.
Originally from California, Sharri moved to Texas back in 2009 after falling in love with the area when visiting her parents. With her warm smile and youthful energy, she quickly found a place to call home in our community and at HSNT. “I feel comfortable coming in here,” Sharri shares. “They have everything I need, and I know I’m in good hands. When I need to get in, they make it happen,” she says, recalling a recent experience when she fell ill with severe bronchitis.
“I had never had bronchitis before, and I couldn’t breathe. It scared me,” Sharri remembers. She debated whether to go to the emergency room but called HSNT first. “They got me in within an hour. Nisha [Abraham] took care of me, and I was back on my feet quickly.” Sharri’s trust in her provider is evident. “She knows exactly what’s going on, asks the right questions, and always has answers.”
Sharri has remained healthy overall, but she values knowing that HSNT offers a variety of services and resources if she ever needs them. “They give me options and guidance. It’s reassuring to know I’m never on my own,” she says. From preventive care to acute treatments, Sharri trusts HSNT’s team to deliver professional and compassionate care.
Her loyalty to HSNT is because of the medical services provided and the people. “The staff are friendly, efficient, and professional. They get you in and out, but they also make sure you feel heard,” Sharri says. Whether she’s in for a routine visit or something unexpected, she knows she’ll be taken care of.
“Being a senior, it’s important to know that you have reliable care. I feel young at heart, and HSNT helps me stay that way,” she says with a smile.
