DENTON, TEXAS – October 2025

Health Services of North Texas (HSNT) has received twelve American Heart Association outpatient program achievement awards for four of its health centers in recognition for its commitment to reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke by improving high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes, and blood pressure management. The awards recognize a commitment to following the latest evidence- and science-based care guidelines.

Nearly half of all adults in the U.S. have some form of cardiovascular disease, including heart attack, stroke or heart failure. High cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes and uncontrolled high blood pressure are leading risk factors for cardiovascular disease, but with timely diagnosis, research-based treatment and education, these conditions can be managed. HSNT helps patients with these conditions improve their health and wellbeing by providing accessible healthcare that is responsive to each patient’s unique needs.

“This recognition from the American Heart Association reflects the unwavering commitment, collaboration, and excellence our team brought to every patient interaction in 2024. These awards are more than accolades, they’re a testament to the countless hours of behind-the-scenes effort, clinical precision, and compassionate care that define who we are as an organization. As someone who’s been part of this team for nearly 11 years, I’ve seen firsthand the heart and hustle that drive our work. This moment is deeply personal, it honors not just what we’ve achieved, but how we’ve grown together. I’m proud to stand alongside such dedicated colleagues, and even prouder to see our efforts recognized on a national stage,” says Mari Bailey, Senior Clinical Nurse Manager at HSNT.

The outpatient achievement award programs put the unparalleled expertise of the American Heart Association to work for health care organizations nationwide, helping ensure the care provided to patients is aligned with the latest evidence- and research-based guidelines. As a participant in the Target: BP, Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol., and Target: Type 2 Diabetes programs, HSNT was recognized after demonstrating how their organization has committed to improving risk factor management for patients.
