  • An in-house social worker to help with referrals and resources

Common Pregnancy Symptoms

Pregnancy can bring many changes to your body. Some common symptoms include:

  • Allergies
  • Aches and pains
  • Cold or flu symptoms
  • Changes in bowel movements
  • Heartburn
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Hemorrhoids

Our team can help you understand which over-the-counter medications are safe during pregnancy and share tips to manage symptoms at home.

Who Should Receive Prenatal Care?

Any woman who is pregnant or thinks she may be pregnant should receive prenatal care as soon as possible. Early care helps build a strong relationship with your provider and supports better outcomes.

It is never too late to start prenatal care. Women with chronic conditions, past pregnancy complications, or other risk factors may need extra monitoring, which our team can discuss with you.

If you are planning to become pregnant, HSNT can also talk with you about pre-pregnancy care to help prepare your body.

Benefits of Prenatal Care

The care you receive during pregnancy can affect your baby’s health for a lifetime. Regular prenatal care helps lower the risk of problems and supports healthy development.

Benefits of prenatal care at HSNT include:

  • Treatment for common pregnancy symptoms
  • Tests to check your baby’s growth and development
  • Regular checkups throughout pregnancy
  • Support for high-risk pregnancies
  • Lower risk of complications for both mother and baby

What Happens at a Prenatal Visit?

If you think you may be pregnant, we offer in-house pregnancy testing. If your test is positive, your first prenatal visit may include:

  • A physical exam
  • Blood work
  • Medical history review
  • Pelvic exam
  • Ultrasound, if ordered

You will have regular visits throughout your pregnancy. At each visit, we will:

  • Check your health
  • Monitor your baby’s growth
  • Listen to the baby’s heartbeat
  • Order tests as needed

If your pregnancy is considered high-risk, you may have more frequent visits. Your prenatal appointments are also a time to ask questions and share any concerns. We are here to support you.
