Annual Physicals

What Are Annual Physicals?

Annual physicals are yearly checkups that help you and your provider understand your overall health. They give us the chance to look for early changes, answer your questions, and support your long-term wellness.

If you are already an HSNT primary care patient, your medical history is available here. This helps your provider compare year-to-year results and track changes in your health.

During your physical, you can expect a thorough exam and time to talk with your provider. We may ask you to fast for 12 hours before your visit so we can complete blood work if needed.
Annual physicals for women may also include routine women’s health screenings to support whole-body wellness.

Benefits of Annual Physicals

Getting a yearly checkup at HSNT can help you:

  • Detect problems early
  • Prevent diseases before they start
  • Receive personalized care
  • Check vital signs
  • Monitor ongoing health concerns
  • Stay up to date on vaccines
  • Discuss healthy lifestyle changes
  • Understand your risk and establish health goals

These visits help you stay informed, prepared, and in control of your health.

What to Expect During Your Physical

At your annual physical, your provider will:

  • Check your vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, and pulse)
  • Measure your height and weight
  • Review your medical history
  • Perform a complete physical exam
  • Ask about any new symptoms or concerns
  • Decide if you need any additional testing

Routine tests may include blood work and urine analysis. Some tests depend on your age, gender, and risk factors, such as diabetes, high cholesterol, or thyroid conditions.

If any results come back abnormal, your HSNT provider will explain what they mean and help create a treatment plan that fits your needs.

You’ll also have time to ask questions and talk about vaccines or screenings you may need.
