Prescription Assistance

Home Services Prescription Assistance

No one should have to choose between paying for medicine and paying for basic needs like food or rent. As a trusted Community Health Center (CHC), we are committed to making care and medications more affordable for North Texas communities.

That’s why we offer a Prescription Assistance Program (PAP) at our Denton, Wylie, and Plano locations. This program helps patients get the medications they need to manage their health and follow their treatment plans.

Prescription Assistance

What Is the Prescription Assistance Program?

The Prescription Assistance Program (PAP) helps uninsured and underinsured patients access low-cost or no-cost medications. Our goal is to help patients stay healthy by making sure cost is not a barrier to treatment.

PAP is especially helpful for patients managing chronic conditions such as:

  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Asthma
  • Mental health conditions
  • Infectious diseases

With this program, choosing between medicine, food, or bills does not have to happen.

Benefits of Prescription Assistance at HSNT

Patients who use our Prescription Assistance Program may benefit from:

  • Access to medications that may otherwise be too expensive
  • Better ability to follow treatment plans
  • Improved control of chronic conditions
  • Personalized, in-office support from HSNT staff

Because PAP is managed directly by HSNT, our team can work closely with you to find solutions that best fit your needs.

Who May Qualify?

You may qualify for the Prescription Assistance Program if you:

  • Have a low income
  • Do not have health insurance
  • Have insurance but still struggle to afford medications

PAP is not an insurance plan or a government program. It is a service offered by Health Services of North Texas to support our patients’ health and well-being.

To see if you qualify, speak with a team member at your HSNT location.

How the Program Works

Many medications provided through PAP are manufactured by pharmaceutical companies. Because this is an in-office program, our staff can guide you through the process and help manage refills and follow-up.

This hands-on approach allows HSNT to respond more quickly and provide ongoing support, especially for patients who need long-term medications.

Patient Success Story

One HSNT patient shared how the program made a life-changing difference:

“As far as my insulin goes, [HSNT has] done a great job. Lyrica is so expensive, I just couldn’t believe it. So, I really do owe a lot to HSNT. There have been times when I came up here, and I couldn’t afford it, and they said, ‘Don’t worry about it.’ I definitely believe in Health Services—because they’re saving my life.”

Stories like this reflect why HSNT exists: to care for our community with compassion and dignity.
